The Mersey rivals drew 1-1 for the second time in a week and again Steven Gerrard was on target.
After putting the hosts ahead in Monday's Premier League game, the captain earned a Cup replay with a low shot early in the second half on Sunday after Joleon Lescott scored with just about Everton's only chance of the match.
