Quaresma is raring to go at Stamford Bridge, while Harry Redknapp is rueing not being able to sign the Portuguese winger for Spurs...
New Chelsea loan signing Ricardo Quaresma is has reiterated his determination to make a splash at Stamford Bridge following his move from Inter.
The talented winger has been classes as one of the transfer flops of the season thus far, following an underwhelming spell in Serie A with Inter following his summer transfer from Porto.
Now he's keen to make a fresh start to the season in London, although his drive is obviously borne of Inter boss and Portuguese countryman Jose Mourinho's rejection of him.
The 25-year-old told the Blues' official website, "All I want is to show my qualities, to show what I am made of and hopefully I am going to help Chelsea achieve their goals.
"I can promise is I am going to work very hard; I am going to give my best. I am the right player to help Chelsea, so hopefully I will be able to do so.
"I am very thankful to Mr. Scolari and everybody at Chelsea who made this deal possible."
No Problem
The wide-man looked set for Tottenham Hotspur before the Blues entered the race to sign him at the last minute, leaving Spurs gaffer Harry Redknapp perplexed.
Redknapp told Sky Sports: "I spoke to Jose Mourinho on Sunday night for half an hour. He was helpful as usual, and he said, 'Yes Harry, you can have him, no problem'.
"Then Chelsea came in out of the blue, so it was difficult. He is an exciting player and I am sure Chelsea have [signed] a good loan player."
Spurs otherwise splashed out nearly £50 million on new players, compared to Chelsea's £500,000. Still, it's all about the prestige and the Lilywhites are presently at the wrong end of the Premier League pile.
i think Solari would rather to have the "left" player instead..
