  Manchester United duo Sir Alex Ferguson and Nemanja Vidic have been named as the Barclays Manager and Player of the Month respectively.

  United picked up maximum points from their five matches in the Premier League in January without conceding a single goal, beating Chelsea, Wigan, Bolton, West Brom and Everton.

  Vidic produced a string of impressive defensive displays but also contributed at the other end, netting against both Chelsea and West Brom.

  The award is Vidic's first monthly player award, while his manager takes the honour for the 22nd time.
