Record-breaking Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has quipped that he will soon concede a goal, as he is bored of the media hype surrounding his run of clean sheets.
The 38-year-old Dutchman has not conceded a goal in the Premier League since the two Samir Nasri scored for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on November 8.
And with the former Ajax, Juventus and Fulham glove-man keeping his 13th consecutive clean sheet against West Ham on Sunday, he eclipsed the British record set by Aberdeen stopper Bobby Clark in the 1970/71 season.
However, Van der Sar, who has now gone 1,212 minutes without being
beaten in the Engish top-flight, has revealed he is beginning to grow
tired of his 'unbeatable' status and is looking forward to finally
having to pick the ball out of his net.
"It is getting annoying now so maybe I will do it [concede] in one or
two games," he said. "It is great of course but the records will only
be important at the end of the season.
"If we end up losing another four or five games before the end of the
season we probably won't be the champions and the goal is to win it. It
is a halfway point. You take it on board but you don't celebrate.
"When you talk about this achievement it is all about the team. It is
about organisation and trusting each other. If Rio [Ferdinand] steps to
the right you know [Nemanja] Vidic will follow. It is about knowing
Rafael will come inside, or when Michael Carrick is going to block a
shot from distance.
"It is magnificent. Hopefully we can keep if going for a while."

Wait till he kena concede goal ba
Maybe against Derby?
Getting cocky... cocktart.
lol
I think it's just unneeded added pressure to have to upkeep/maintain a record. And he doesn't want that to pile on his shoulders if he wants to focus.

everytime they concede corner, damn stressful. ![]()
Even if they concede against Derby, VDS will still keep his record simply because
a) It is not a Premiership game
2) He won't be playing cos Fergie normally lets Foster or Kuszczak play in cup competitions...
Abel Resino is the current Atletico Madrid manager I think...
