Terry’s said to be fed-up at Chelsea
Sunday February 15,2009
Manchester City will make a £20million move for John Terry in the summer – believing that the England skipper is becoming increasingly disillusioned with Chelsea.
There is a growing feeling within the corridors of power at wealthy City that any bid would be successful this time around.
City believe that Terry is now ready to move on as his love affair with Stamford Bridge fades.
Overtures were made to Chelsea and Terry’s advisers before the January transfer window but there was no chance of any deal being agreed.
At the time Chelsea were not prepared to sell and Terry did not want to leave.
But the latest upheaval – with Luiz Felipe Scolari being sacked and divisions appearing in the dressing room – has made him think about his future.
City – backed by Sheikh Mansour’s billions – would hand Chelsea a £20m cheque and make Terry the highest earning defender in the country on £150,000 a week.
While on media duties for England last week in Spain, Terry was clearly upset at Scolari’s exit and the fact that some players had accelerated the manager’s departure by expressing their concerns to owner Roman Abramovich.
Now with interim boss Guus Hiddink in charge, Terry is demanding the right response from a Chelsea side now 10 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester United.
He said: “It’s a fresh start for everybody. Whatever the differences were with every player or what the situation at the club is, now’s a fresh start.
“We won’t let Manchester United walk away with it.”

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has warned that any signings in the summer will have to be financed by selling players after the club announced losses of £65.7m for the last financial year.
Despite the losses, Chelsea insist they are committed to breaking even by 2010 - but that means very limited funds available for new signings.
Kenyon said: "We have set ourselves ambitious targets... to require zero cash funding from the owner at the beginning of the financial year 2009/2010.
"We have consistently advocated the aim of self-sufficiency which has always been supported by the owner. We are hopeful of being close to these targets in the time-frames we have set given the underlying strengths of the business.
"Success on the field is a key part of this. But in line with our long-stated business aims, any squad structuring in the summer will be funded prominently by sales as we have consistently reduced our net transfer spend over the last five years and will attempt to continue this trend."
The latest figures include £23.1m paid in compensation to Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant and five coaching staff. It does not include any pay-off for Luiz Felipe Scolari, sacked on Monday, however.
The figures do represent another improvement after last year's losses of £74.8m, £80.2m the previous year, and record losses of £140m in 2004/2005.
Chelsea's wage bill remains comfortably the biggest in the Premier League at £148.5m 70.6 per cent of their turnover. Manchester United' by contrast was £106m in 2006/7, 43.6 per cent of turnover.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has also reduced the debt the club owe to him personally by half, turning the £369.9m of his loans into shares in the club. It still means however that Chelsea owe him £339.8m as an interest-free loan.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said he hoped the move by Abramovich would silence the doubters over the Russian's commitment to the club.

Maybe its because his salary very high...
They should have sold Ballack in Jan and try to get back something since his contract left 6 months till June.
lol
still got what players can sell/
Out: Malouda, Deco, Ballack, Alex, Ferreira, Drogba ???
In: Quaresma? 1 midfield? 1 Striker?
k
my take would be that Chelsea wouldn't wanna do deal with ManC if the player concern is Terry, even thou they will have to sell to make further purchase there is no reason why they would sell a guy whom is probably almost impossible to be replaced and even thou Roman might not be as wealthy as before he is still worth a couple of billions and not forgetting if Terry is being sold a major uproar will be rised by the fans and players as well, having Terry might not assured them of the most important income (which is the ECL) but without him their chances would probably be even lower.. hence in a nutshell Terry would not be moving IMHO.
Lolx?
Sell Deco n Obi Mikel?
they should get rid of ballack and malouda.
Selling Terry to City wil see the start of the fall of both teams.
lol? and go to city got higher chance?
buying him will be the worst buy ever for city lah...20M for a cry baby?? knn... buy DB also better right like that..
