The Argentine ace has endured a stop-start season since the club signed Dimitar Berbatov in August.
And with boss Alex Ferguson yet to decide if he will sign the on-loan striker permanently, Tevez admits if was forced to move it would be with a heavy heart.
The 25-year-old said: "I have the head start in Manchester and my idea is to stay here for a few more years.
"It is very difficult having to leave one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"I spoke with the management of Manchester, not with Sir Alex Ferguson.
"But I have not signed anything yet. Also because we are waiting until June to find a solution."
And it wud hurt every Utd fan if he leaves cos he always gives 100% on the pitch with his energy and hassling of the opponents...

Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez says he is keen to stay at Old Trafford, but admits he is uncertain whether he will still be at the club next season.
The diminutive Argentine forward has struggled to cement a regular place in the English, European and World champions's starting XI this campaign, with new signing Dimitar Berbatov often preferred in attack.
And with Tevez's two-year loan deal at Old Trafford set to end in the summer, with United yet to agree the £30 million fee due to the investment group that handles the striker's affairs, the former Boca Juniors man admits he is not certain what the future holds for him.
"I do have a great feeling about Manchester United and, in
particular, the fans. I have a great affection for them and they have
made the feeling phenomenal," he told the Daily Express.
"But at this point I am not sure if I will stay, not least because it
is not just my decision. It is up to Manchester to decide if they want
to keep me, and I have to decide what is right for my career, for my
future.
"This season I have been benched and I find that hard to understand when I am not playing badly."
