Drogba hails Hiddink and slams Scolari
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has hailed Guus Hiddink's arrival at Stamford Bridge and hit out at predecessor Luiz Felipe Scolari for dividing the dressing room.
The Ivory Coast international was singled out for blame by Scolari following the Blues' humiliating 3-0 defeat to Manchester United and Drogba believes that was the beginning of the end for the Brazilian, who was sacked earlier this month.
"When Scolari started blaming individuals, then that was bad. To name one player as to blame for what happened in a squad of 24 is wrong."
Scolari also claimed that Drogba was one of three players who betrayed him and led to his eventual demise. But Drogba hit back and said: "I was shocked he said that."
"I have respect for Scolari as a man and a coach but I was not involved in any discussions with the owner."
"And if I had as much power with the owner as has been said, then [Jose] Mourinho would still be here, no? If I had that power!"
Drogba is backing Guus Hiddink to re-unite Chelsea and get them back on the trophy trail.
"Hiddink is just what Chelsea need right now," the striker insisted.
The Dutch manager's first game in charge of Chelsea will be against third place Aston Villa, at Villa Park on Saturday.
