TOR BLIMEY ... Everton's Victor Anichebe suffers force of Kevin Nolan's challenge
The Everton striker limped out of Sunday’s goalless draw at Newcastle after Nolan’s tackle earned the Toon midfielder a straight red card.
Anichebe, 20, said: “I’ve never felt as much pain in my life — I thought I’d broken my leg. I couldn’t even look down.
“Luckily, I’ve got strong legs but if that was anyone else their leg would have snapped in two.
“I’ve always thought I’d never get injured for a long period and when it happened I thought ‘That’s me, that’s my time’.
“Now it’s not as bad as it was. I’ve pain in my knee and the back of my calf and down my shin, so we’ll see how it is.”
Despite his X-rated challenge, Newcastle will NOT be punishing former Bolton man Nolan.
The Scouser is now banned for three games after his sending off.
And a close pal of Nolan’s said: “Kevin said sorry to all his team-mates as well as apologising to Victor.
“He knows it looks bad but wants to put it behind him and move on.”
