Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Moutinho has revealed he would be interested in a summer switch to England, setting several Premier League clubs' pulses racing at the prospect of landing him.
The talented 22-year-old Sporting skipper has spent his entire career to date at the Estádio José Alvalade after progressing through the club's youth system, and has made more than 100 league appearances for the Lions, as well as earning 19 caps for his country.
But despite insisting he is still enjoying life in the Portuguese capital, Moutinho believes the best way of improving his game would be to move abroad, preferably to a Premier League club.
"I'm happy at Sporting but I also want to progress as a player and believe I can succeed in England," he told the Daily Mirror.
Everton have long been linked with Moutinho, with the Toffees believed to have been tracking the player since last summer when they could not agree a fee with his club.
While rumours on Friday suggested the Goodison Park outfit were plotting a £10 million bid for the diminutive playmaker at the end of the season.
