  While it's always dangerous to conflate correlation and causality, Rafa's bizarre press conference whine certainly looks like an inflection point. The rant was on Jan 9. Here's a before and after. Jan 9 Liverpool 45 pts Man Utd 38 pts Feb 28 Man Utd 62 pts Liverpool 55 pts From Jan 9 through Feb 28, then, Man Utd accumulated 24 points, with victories in every match while Liverpool earned 10 points, with 4 draws and a loss. A 14 point difference over a seven week period. That approaches Keeganian proportions, which is appropriate given the Liverpool connection. So, whether Rafa's surreal paranoid meandering was the cause of Liverpool's collapse is hard to say, it certainly doesn't seem to have done the Spaniard's squad any good.
