Oh no... Hiddink turns into Keegan...

  CHELSEA boss Guus Hiddink has turned into Kevin Keegan.

  He is going all out to stop Manchester United rival Alex Ferguson winning five trophies. And as he prepared for tonight’s visit to Portsmouth, the Dutchman said: “I’d love to stop him. I hope we can stop him.”

  Keegan famously uttered the immortal line ‘I’d love it if we beat them, love it’ during the 1996 title battle, which his Newcastle team lost to Fergie’s men.

  United are on course for a Quintuple, having now added the Carling Cup to the Club World Cup. They are also seven points clear of Hiddink’s Blues in the Premier League race. But Hiddink is refusing to give up on the title and knows Chelsea can also foil United by winning the FA Cup and Champions League.

  He added: “As long as there is a possibility you never know. It will be difficult but I like a team that does not give up. “I liked the way the team reacted against Wigan at the weekend after we conceded a goal. That’s like I see the championship as well. We have the ambition to stop them. It is a classic clash between two powerhouses but let’s make a few steps first.”

  Asked about Fergie’s renowned reputation for intimidating other bosses, Hiddink smiled as he declared: “I don’t know if people are scared of him but I am not scared.”

  Didier Drogba is up for the fight and feels he has his bite back under Hiddink. Drogba said: “I thank my new manager for believing in me.”

  Guus Hiddink has been depicted as 'doing a Keegan' after the interim Chelsea boss repeated Keggy's infamous "I would love it" line as he promised to chase down Manchester United. 

  Over ten years after Keegan's perceived meltdown live on television, the Dutchman finds himself on the back page of a number of tabloid newspapers this morning with his face photoshopped onto the iconic image of Keegan jabbing his finger in the direction of the camera as the cracked under the pressure of a United surge. If Hiddink didn't previously realise how hysterical the British press can be, he does now. 

  Other than the "love it" line, the tenor of Hiddink's remarks bore no comparison to Keegan's rant. He did, however, make clear his determination to close the gap to the league leaders and refusal to throw in the towel.
