Ricardo Carvalho has insisted he will not risk picking up another injury by returning to action until he is convinced he is ready.
The Portuguese has been troubled by hamstring problems this term, but turned out for Chelsea’s reserves against Aston Villa’s second string on Monday.
Carvalho is unlikely to be risked in the FA Cup quarter final with Coventry at the weekend, as he feels it is imperative he does not risk a further hamstring complaint.
”This time we did things properly,” Carvalho told The Mirror. “My rehab was better that the previous one when we made some mistakes.
”I came back a little too early and in the training I broke down, so after that it takes twice the time it should.
”This time I am feeling stronger and the muscle is okay, so next week I will start to play for the first team.”
