Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso has set Premier League clubs' pulses racing after revealing he wants to leave the Portuguese capital at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder, who has made seven appearances for his country, is believed to be a target of both Arsenal and Bolton, who were linked with a £12 million move for the player in the winter transfer window.
But Gary Megson's side may now not be the only English side chasing
Veloso's signature in the summer, after the player's father Antonio
revealed his son wants to negotiate a deal enabling him to leave the
Estadio Jose Alvalade.
“I will guarantee that he will continue here until at least the end of
the season, and then we will see what is going to happen,” he said.
"We will speak with the club to resolve everything about his future so that he doesn't leave the club on bad terms."
