Newcastle defender Sebastien Bassong has cast doubt on his Magpies future by admiting he would welcome a summer move to Arsenal.
The French stopper has been one of the few bright spots in another miserable season for the St James' Park side.
Bassong, who arrived from Lens in a £1.5million summer deal, has impressed with a number of solid displays for the struggling Magpies.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is reported to have been monitoring the progress of the 22-year-old as he weighs up bolstering his squad at the end of the season.
Bassong has confirmed he is aware that Arsenal are considering his services and claims he would welcome a move to Emirates Stadium.
He said: "My agent told me about Arsenal's interest and it would be a lie if I said they are not a club I'm interested in."
