Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says the club has no intention of letting his key players leave this summer.
Spurs suffered a double blow in the summer when Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane announced that they wanted to leave to join Manchester United and Liverpool respectively, and there had been fears that the likes of Luka Modric and Aaron Lennon could move on this summer.
However, Redknapp insists he has no intention of allowing any of the club’s best players to leave this time around and says he has the full backing of the board.
“We have some good players here, and we are going to keep hold of our best players,” he said.
“There is a lot of talk about one or two leaving, but we’re not going to be selling any of our best players in the summer – that is for sure.
“We will keep them here, because the chairman, Daniel Levy, wants to hang onto our best players.
“It was just one of things last year, because Berbatov wanted to go and Robbie also went, but we have to make sure the best ones stay here.”
