Manchester City have reportedly turned down three approaches for third choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
The 22-year-old currently finds himself behind Joe Hart and January signing Shay Given in the pecking order at Eastlands.
The Denmark Under-21 international is thought to be eager to get some first-team action under his belt before the end of the season but with just one substitute appearance in the Premier League that is unlikely to happen at City.
Despite his lack of football this season the club appear to be reluctant to let him leave, even if any deal was only on a temporary loan basis.
"Of course it is disappointing. But I can't say more," Schmeichel told Ekstra Bladet.
Schmeichel has been loaned out seven times during his stay at City, with the last move coming in March last year when he went to Coventry until the end of the season.

Elfsborg have revealed that they enquired about a deal for Kasper Schmeichel but were told ‘no’ by the Manchester City goalkeeper.
Schmeichel, the son of Manchester United great Peter, is out of first-team contention at the City of Manchester Stadium and has spoken recently of his desire to find a team who can offer him regular football.
Swedish side Elfsborg are in need of a new goalkeeper and were keen on taking the 22-year-old who stated recently that he regretted the decision to sign a four-year contract with City last season.
“When you look at the market, he is obviously one of the names that keeps coming up, but Kasper is not interested,” Elfsborg director Stefan Andreasson told bold.dk.

Kasper Schmeichel's agent insists his client did not snub a loan move to Swedish side Elfsborg.
Reports in Denmark had suggested that the Manchester City keeper had turned down the opportunity to spend a spell in Scandinavia.
Elfsborg sporting director Stefan Andreasson has made no secret of his desire to land a new keeper, with Schmeichel and former Fulham ace Antti Niemi believed to be in his thoughts.
However, Michael Johansen claims no contact has been made with the City man.
He does admit that a loan deal would be off the cards as Schmeichel is registered in the Blues' Uefa Cup squad, but claims the youngster remains keen to find a route out of Eastlands in an effort to find regular first team football.
"Andreasson claims Kasper isn't interested. I must reject that," Johansen told Bold.
"The situation is that Kasper can't join them on loan and they haven't held any discussions with Kasper Schmeichel.
"There must be some kind of miscommunication.
He added: "It can't be done. Manchester City have no interest in letting him go out on loan.
"They have registered him as one of their three goalkeepers for the Uefa Cup and if they get any injuries, they do not want to be left without a back-up goalkeeper."
