Arshavin expecting to improve

Arsene Wenger believes Theo Walcott is vital to Arsenal’s hopes of unlocking opposition defences.
Walcott, who turned 20 on Monday, made his first start since returning from injury as Arsenal beat Blackburn 4-0 at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
And, having drawn their three previous home league games 0-0, Wenger believes that Walcott’s approach could make a big difference when The Gunners are struggling to break through against defensive opposition.
“He made us a very good start and he became stronger and stronger,” he said.
“He gives us something that is important as well when we play at home.
“He goes behind the defenders and creates room and he has a direct game. We need that, especially at home.
“It is important to have him back and he gives you something that can make a difference in any game.”
Wenger also believes the England starlet is improving all the time and is convinced he is still a long way from reaching his full potential.
“Compared to one year ago, there is no comparison,” he said.
“That is what people sometimes have problems to accept.
“At that age, every three months you go up higher, but how much you can never predict.
“But there is still a lot more to come from Theo.”

Wenger: Arshavin has adapted already
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is delighted with the impact made by Andrey Arshavin since joining the club in February.
The little Russian got off the mark in England with a cleverly-taken strike against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, and is ready to face Hull City in the FA Cup.
With Chelsea awaiting the winners at Wembley in the semi-finals, Arshavin is desperate for the chance to fire The Gunners to glory, even though he has had stitches in a foot injury sustained on Saturday.
"Arshavin had eight stitches in his foot but he is still in the squad," revealed Wenger.
"He is desperate to be involved.
"He just wants to play.
"Arshavin is a player with personality, vision, intelligence. I knew he had that but I didn't know how mentally strong he was to adapt quickly.
"He is resilient, he works very hard and that's why he adapted so quickly."

Arshavin expecting to improve
Andrei Arshavin has insisted he has only scratched the surface of his potential since his move to Arsenal.
The Russian has shown glimpses of real quality in recent weeks, despite by his own admission being not yet fit enough to cope with the demands of The Premier League.
He scored his first goal for The Gunners against Blackburn at the weekend, but has insisted there is plenty of room for manoeuvre.
"I am just getting to know my new team-mates and so, sometimes, I do not know where I should go, where to run or how to use the space," Arshavin told the club’s official website.
"Sometimes I play well, yes, but I would like to show that all of the time.
"However, it is getting better and better in each game and I will try to improve."
Arshavin is comfortable in a number of positions and says he is prepared to play in any role Arsene Wenger asks of him.
"The boss must decide where is best to play me but, in my mind, if Arsenal play a 4-4-2, then it is better for me to play as the second forward," Arshavin said.
"If we play 4-3-3, then I can play on the left or the right wing, it does not matter for me."
