Real Betis had confirmed several days ago that current chairman, Manuel Ruiz de Lopera was in negotiations to sell off 52% of his shares at the club to Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al-Nuaimi for €90 million.
Spanish daily, AS has now reported that the Emir is prepared to invest between €400 million to €600 million on the club, a majority of which will be used to sign big name players.
The Sheikh’s advisers and representatives are currently studying the proposal as Al-Nuaimi is eager to find out more about the club, such as the history, the fans, the characteristics, and social implications before he goes ahead with the plan. If he does purchase the club, it is believed that his intention is to have full control of the board and administration, but Ruiz de Lopera will be retained as the honorary president.
Meanwhile, a Spanish television channel conducted a survey with around 500 Betis fans outside their training ground yesterday and the general consensus is that most of the supporters are in favour of sale, but they are first eager to find out more about the take-over and about their potential future directors.

that's because the current owner does not want to lower his asking price.
