Paul Hart has made the mightily bold claim that Glen Johnson is the best full back in The Premier League.
Johnson's woeful Chelsea days are long gone and his Portsmouth resurgence continues to gather such pace that he once again finds himself in Fabio Capello’s latest England squad.
Having attracted admiring glances from the likes of Liverpool last summer, Johnson has since committed his long-term future to Fratton Park.
He was forced to fulfil a more advanced right-sided midfield role against Everton on Saturday but that only served to intensify Hart’s praise for his charge.
“Glen is the best full back in the country as far as I’m concerned – and he’s one of the best players,” he said in the Daily Express.
“You only find out about players when you get close to them and work with them. He has been absolutely immense. Day-in, day-out he is a tremendous professional.
“He is certainly one of the best right-backs but he can play that position in right midfield because he is such an attacking player. I love him when he plays out there because he gets a lot of crosses in for me.”
attacking has never been his problem.. its his defending and positional sense..
