Patrice Evra has declared that football is a ‘religion’ for English fans.
Manchester United left back Evra has urged France’s supporters to emulate the Premier League fans, who are passionate for their sport and who show respect to their idols.
The defender has claimed that he discovered a new world when he moved from Monaco to Old Trafford, and the talented player would be pleased to witness the same atmosphere when he wears the blue shirt of his country.
Evra has added that booing your own players is unacceptable behaviour.
“When I arrived in England, I felt like I was doing a different job,” Evra told L’Equipe.
“The impact of the stadiums and of the fans is...Football is a religion there.
“What would I tell the France fans? Just to love football.
“If you love football, you can’t have such behaviour [booing your own players].”
