Wigan Athletic midfielder Ben Watson is delighted with his first months at the JJB.
Two goals in successive games have earned 23-year-old Watson the plaudits, and the £1.6m January signing from Crystal Palace is determined to hold on to the shirt.
Watson said: "Getting into the team came about due to a bit of fortune on my part.
"No one likes to see players get suspended, but with Lee getting suspended, the shirt was there for me. And now I'm in the side I want to keep it.
"I'm loving it here. The club are in a magnificent position, seventh in the Premier League with eight games to play.
"I used to clean Steve Bruce's boots when he was Palace boss and I was an apprentice, so you could say he's rewarded me by signing me for Wigan!
"It's been nice to score in the last two games, and the wins against Sunderland and Hull were massive.
"We knew that if we got maximum points, it would put a big gap between ourselves and the teams fighting relegation.
"Next we've got Everton and Arsenal coming up, and with no disrespect to Sunderland and Hull, it will be harder to get points off those two.
"It's a shame there's a long gap to the Everton game, but that's the way it is, we just have to make sure we're ready when it comes to it."
