Rafa best rated in Europe

  Europe's biggest newspapers have named Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez as the best coach in the world.

  Spain's AS and Marca, plus Italian broadsheet La Gazzetta dello Sport conducted online polls asking their readers to vote for the best coach in world football.

  Liverpool's manager was an overwhelmingly popular figure and came out on top, winning more votes than the likes of Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, Fabio Capello, Marcello Lippi, Vicente Del Bosque and Barcelona's Josep Guardiola.

  In Marca, Rafa got 44 per cent of the vote to finish ahead of Guardiola (28 per cent) and Wenger (7 per cent).

  Meanwhile, in AS, Benitez took 34 per cent with Guardiola in second place (19 per cent) and Spain's Head Coach Del Bosque third (15 per cent).

  Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport had Rafa out in front with 24.6 per cent, ahead of Ferguson (17.2 per cent) and Mourinho (15 per cent).

  hmmm... I think this has something to do with the timing of the vote too... If you hold the vote right after Capello lead england to win world cup, confirm he top the votes...

  I feel the poll on Rafa is rather weak, mainly from Spain and one from Italy only? They may think that way cos their teams have been beaten by Rafa's Pool in the CL... But I don't think the English Press feels that way though...

  Rafa is only good in Europe could mainly be because he has never need to challenge for the Premiership over the last 4, 5 years... While the rest like Jose, Fergie, Frank Rijkaard all had to balance their squad for the league and CL, Rafa as usual, during these time, usually gets to rest his players from league matches and concentrate on their CL opponents only...

  Rafa still has to show he can handle both at the same time like Jose, Fergie, Rijkaard and even Grant...

  I personally don't think there is a best coach lah... But there are good ones around this I can accept... Fergie, Wenger, Capello, Rijkaard and some others are all decently good managers... Jose Mourinho is also one at the top lah only he brings along some baggage with him... Other than that, you could say he can confirm a top 3 finish or maybe even better...

  But at the end of the day... I think you are only as good as your last few games these days... Lose a few in a row and you become a bad manager and out you go like Scolari... a world cup winner somemore...

  This is stupid. As a pool fan.

  Honestly, I think this guy is much like Houllier, signs lots of french thrash, for Rafa's case, multinational thrash. Only a few are good signings such as Agger (Rafa), Torres (Rafa), Garcia (Rafa), Alonso (Rafa) as for the old frenchie Riise, Hyypia, Dudek and the worst move for both these 2 gaffers.

  Selling off Fowler and Owen respectively. Completely dumb moves.
