Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he will retire if he wins the Champions League twice more to add to his current haul of two European Cups.
The Manchester United manager's retirement date has been the subject of much debate this year but he remains as committed as ever to bringing more glory to The Red Devils.
Although naming Jose Mourinho as a possible successor, the Scot has reiterated that it is not his decision as to who should take over the reins.
"It doesn't matter what happened on Tuesday night against Porto, we're still in the European Cup with a chance," he told CNN.
"If there was one challenge, I would love the club to win more European trophies.
"I don't think we've won the number we should have won.
"If we could just win a couple more European trophies then I would definitely quit."
In terms of who should succeed him, Ferguson is not worrying himself with such matters.
"Well, I'm glad it's not my decision," he added. "But I think you need someone with experience here because it's a big club now. It's a massive club.
"I like Jose. I think he's a good guy. We've got on very well together but I don't know what the club thinks about who the next manager is going to be.
"Hopefully it's not for another two or three years because I intend to stay on as long as I can."
means he's gonna do it until he dies. ![]()
