BARGAIN ... Didier Drogba
Arsenal manager Wenger fears that Chelsea’s revitalised striker poses the greatest threat to his makeshift defence in today’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
And he cannot help thinking back to the time when he could have snapped up the £24million Ivory Coast skipper for loose change.
woah and how many years ago was that?
he could have signed palacios too,.
Ronaldo too... lol
Doesn't mean that you sign him when he was young, he would grow into what he is today. Arsenal might have ruined his career?
lucky chelsea signed him instead.

lol if messi = even more heartpain.
Given the extent of scouting in professional football, it's not surprising.
He could have signed Drogba, that's a fact. But whether he could have developed into the player he is today is however a big uncertainty.
Even at Chelsea, it wasn't till Mourinho came that Drogba became a really good player.
There are similarities between him and Adebayor and given Wenger's good track record in developing players, that possibility was definitely there.
But you would also have to consider if he went Arsenal would he have had the same oppurtunties he had at Chelsea? Especially since Henry was would still have been playing for the Gunners?

Actually, I think Messi physically won't be able to handle premiership. He has a condition and that same condition limits the number of games he can play. So in a physically demanding league like England where the top teams tend to play more games than at any club in Europe.
Unless you're saying without European matches or Cup matches, then yeah, I would think he'd be playing every match.
