Actually, I don't often come across the media using the term in it's Italian form. I've always known about Italian teams playing a a game that's built on a good defence.
Are you trying to say actually that people are misunderstanding what "Catenaccio" means? Because just given like that I don't know what it means either.
Or are you saying people assume a defensively strong team is a boring team?

to be fair, I don't watch EPL games if it doesn't involves the top teams. same with La liga, the only game I watch was Barca vs RM.
As for SerieA, i remembered the days when the scores were always close..
In the past, whenever new talents are spotted be it in SouthAmerica or etc, the first choice - Milan.. but now, with the market opening up, they would name other big teams.
Hence, SerieA are "robbed" of these cream of crops and continunity in their league, and hence quality dropped.
