If I were to use your reasoning and turn it around, most pool fans would say I am being snobbish..
I grew up supporting Mu when GK was Gary Bailey.. And then SAF came in and turn the team around.. I just like to see MU being transformed..
whereas for Pool, they keep hanging on to their history, and telling everyone they won this, that, but they never really move forward.. Instead of self-reflecting, they went on bashing others, and it really irked me. Maybe, just the pool fans I encountered.
Well, as you mentioned,I am not young, and I do understand that how much I shout and bang, the teams will still move on even when the whole lot of us pass on la.

Yeah , most of us were very proud of Liverpool , whether or not the 18th title was there to shout about ..... just because MU were current King of EPL , doesn't mean u the fans can curse and swear at rivals .... we don't do that during the 80's , 90's til now , it's not our Singapore style at least .
U encounter Liverpool fans curse and swear at you when u were a kid supporting MU ?

Liverpool fans around Singapore , quite similiarly , were those quiet type in Sgforums , seldom going to other forums and pick fights .

If ask to compare 80s of Liverpool era to Man Utd current era, I am not sure which team will prevail. I bet it must be close, but Liverpool that era dominated Europe easily, cant say for sure if Man Utd can dominate the Europe these days, probably that era, not as many strong teams as of now. So cant actually compare them cos different era.

Not really , that time the European Cup , we called it ... it's a knock out competition , one leg match .... damn kan chiong ...sometime S'pore got live ...Those time , it's real Champion to play at this Competition .....
Teams like Real Madrid , Benfica , Roma , Red Star Belgrade , all damn good .
Especially teams from old-Yugoslavia , damn solid .
Liverpool only won during the 80's . Real Madrid were King for a long time .

Doesn't matter who you all think which team is better, or what your reason is for supporting the team that you support. Everyone will have different benchmarks, preferences and reasons, even when it comes to supporting the same club.
Respect other people for their preferences, don't just slam them because they choose differently.
For example, to call people monkeys just because of choice of football club is downright stupid and shows the kind of person you are.
i still think he is a manure fan. only monkeys behave like this.
For all you know, other than supporting different football clubs, maybe that other person is similar to you in all other aspects. Attended the same school and same faculty as you, watches the same shows and anime as you, drives the same car as you, maybe even supports opposition political party like you do.
In fact, maybe the person may not like the same club as you but likes the same national team as you? So what gives?
