Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has apologised for costing Arsenal an FA Cup final place - and admits he has been haunted by his Wembley nightmare.
The Poland international endured a difficult performance in the game against Chelsea on Saturday - his 24th birthday - and made a succession of mistakes, which culminated in a rash dash out of the penalty area to gift Didier Drogba a late winner.
Nevertheless, manager Arsene Wenger continues to have complete confident in Fabianski, who has been handed an extended run in the side because of injury to regular number one Manuel Almunia.
The young Pole restored some confidence with a few decent saves during last night's amazing 4-4 draw with Liverpool at Anfield, most notably in the first half.
Fabianski, though, has given a frank assessment of his efforts at Wembley.
"After the weekend, I was really feeling down," Fabianski told Arsenal TV Online.
"I know that it was mostly because of me that we did not qualify for the FA Cup final.
"When you are honest and look with honest eyes on that, you can say it.
"Every day I had been waking up with the game still in my mind, so it was not easy.
"When the season is finished, maybe I will clear it out from my mind.
"It was a big, big chance to win something this season in the FA Cup.
"I did not help my team like I should have, and I am sorry for that."
Fabianski added: "I want to thank all of my team-mates and the staff, because they were really helping me.
"I really appreciate that and the atmosphere in the club, which is so fantastic.
"I was quite happy with my performance against Liverpool, but it is a strange feeling with [letting in] four goals, I could have been much happier had we won."
Almunia's ankle problem could keep him out of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Manchester United at Old Trafford on April 29.
Before then, Arsenal host relegation-battlers Middlesbrough on Sunday, when Wenger's side will look to extend their 19-match unbeaten Premier League run.
Fabianski added: "We are still optimistic for the last games of the season.
"We want to be unbeaten in the Premier League, so we will try to do our best and hopefully achieve third place."
How about playing Vito Mannone instead of him?

at least he admit mistake and hope he learn from it.
lehmann din do much better aginst drogba.
sometimes cant blame him, because drogba has often outpower and outmuscle the arsenal defensive pair for so long since senderos days. he come out because he know in one on one situation, silvestre or toure will be outmuscle . so he take his chance and out out. but this time it dontr work. sorry for him
i have confidence in this guy
he only lack exp
Nvm forgiven
At least u save my shots from Liverpool Players
i believe he tried his best.
I also believe he can't be faulted for both the goals in the match, defenders were beaten too easily. Even then, Drogba when playing well is a nightmare to play against. He has already scored like this against equally good or even better opposition.
yeah
arsenal defenders sucks 1

It's just that the defence now isn't their regular or their best defence.
