Young gun: Anelka on target in his Arsenal days
Nicolas Anelka believes Chelsea are bigger than Arsenal because his former club are no longer considered genuine title rivals.
A League and Cup Double winner with Arsenal, Anelka was hugely popular at Highbury before engineering a £23million move to Real Madrid in 1999.
But the France striker believes his former club now target a top four finish rather than silverware.
Despite his claims, Anelka revealed the debt he owes to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for bringing him to England back in 1997.
'I still enjoy a tremendous relationship with Arsene Wenger,' Anelka said. 'You must respect such a manager for all the things he has done for so many players.
'Thanks to him I got to know England and I am still there despite all the things that happened throughout my career.'
