All in the best possible taste: Ian Rush with one of the £1,490 limited-edition phones
Liverpool have launched a must-have mobile phone celebrating the club's glorious history - there's just one catch. You have to be as rich as a footballer to afford it.
And you have to have the taste of a WAG to even want the monstrously indiscreet 18-carat gold handset which retails at a recession-busting £14,490.
Just 250 have been made and they are adorned with 18 diamonds marking the number of the club's league title victories.
At the bottom of the sapphire crystal screen ‘Liverpool FC’ is engraved. It's definitely a phone you'll never want to walk alone with in some of the city's less opulent areas.
The' Liverpool FC Legends Edition' phone is designed by Galentia and the club with the aim of honouring their proud history and heroes past and present.

Classy: The shiny handset, complete with diamond-encrusted Liverpool badge
Get it while you can - their record haul of championships is about to be matched by Manchester United any day now.
Nice medallion: The phone complete in its presentation box.
Hands up if you want one: Steven Gerrard's wife Alex Curran might fancy one of the new phones.
It comes in a North African black walnut box, lined with red velvet. Alongside the phone, within the presentation box, is a limited edition 22-carat gold-plated commemorative medallion, carefully crafted to include Anfield stadium on the face.
Each medallion is numbered to match the limited edition phone it represents. It is claimed that many of them have already been reserved, including a special design by Anfield legend Ian Rush.
Additional players’ numbers have been offered to the current team. The company boastfully explains their ethos on their website: 'Unlike the major manufacturers, Galentia focuses on bespoken and individualized cell phones.
'Galentia is capable of producing customized limited editions, and focuses attention as much on aesthetic values as on technological innovation.'
Really? You decide...

I think that's just the way professional sports is going in an ever commercialized world.

There has been other stuff I can't remember. I remember seeing this during one of those computer shows.
