Under fire: Arsene Wenger has been criticised by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
He claims the signing of Cesc Fabregas when he was just 15 in 2003 as the perfect illustration of his point.
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has launched an unproved attack on Arsene Wenger and accused the Arsenal boss of signing too many young players which he describes as almost 'kidnapping'.
Wenger has brought several youngsters to the North London and many of them have gone to become world class players. But Rummenigge believes managers should not be allowed to cherry pick the most promising players from around the world and has called for it to be stopped.
He told Sport-Bild: 'One like Arsene Wenger signs hosts of players from France and elsewhere year-in year-out. 'We have to take care that this sort of child trafficking is stopped. This has taken on a different scale in the meantime; the word kidnapping is not too far off anymore.
'Fabregas is really the best example for this. He signed from Barcelona at the age of 15 on a free transfer, just because he was about to sign a contract at the age of 16.'
No use one la. These youngsters have no capable seniors who can improve their games further. Fabregas would have been a better player if he had been in another team.
LOL thread tittle sounds gay.
ure just jealous that they became first class players.

No point if they're sold away before they reach their best
so if a foriegn team signs their youth it's called close to kidnapping, but if the local club or them signs the youth it's not?

agree...
Arsene Wenger gave Karl-Heinz Rummenigge short shrift in response to criticism from him about his recruitment policy.
Bayern
Munich chairman Rummenigge hit out at the Arsenal manager in an
interview with Sport Bild magazine for snapping up Cesc Fabregas from
the Barcelona youth set-up when he was just 16.
He said: "Wenger seems to take a host of players from France or wherever else each year and this has got to be prevented.
"The
best example has got to be Fabregas. He transferred to London from
Barcelona as a 15-year-old for nothing because he could only be
contractually bound at the age of 16."
But Wenger fired back at
Rummenigge, insisting they used the same tactics to sign Paraguay
international Roque Santa Cruz, currently of Blackburn, who moved to
Germany from South America when he was still 17.
When asked
about Rummenigge's comments after last night's 1-0 Champions League
semi-final first-leg defeat to Manchester United, Wenger said: "It is
an old speech. Look at Santa Cruz at Blackburn. Ask him what age he
came to Bayern Munich. Then you have an answer for Karl-Heinz
Rummenigge."
signing of youngster is a gamble which might go either way.. while its disheartening to see yourself losing one of the most promising youngster in your camp its not wrong IMHO, you need to have a good eye for players at that age, so grow up to become world class but most fall off into unknown land after a couple of years...
wenger has his own ways of doing things, he may be special because of his ways.
at least, under him, arsenal is one of the best teams ard in europe
