Andy van der Meyde’s agent has revealed the Dutchman will not be an Everton player next season.
Van der Meyde has only played for Everton 24 times since joining the club back in 2005, and now The Toffees are prepared to cut him loose during the summer.
The former Inter man has suffered a catalogue of injuries during his four seasons at Goodison Park, playing only three times this season.
Agent Chiel Dekker admits Van der Meyde’s spell on Merseyside is coming to an end, but he revealed the Dutchman would love to stay in England.
“Andy will leave after this season," Dekker told Belgium Soccer website.
"He will not play and is due for a new challenge in his career.
“He is fit and ready to play and he tells me he prefers a new club in England."
