Samir Nasri has confirmed he is happy to have changed roles and to be played in a more central position.
The former Marseille star was immediately played at left midfield when he arrived at Emirates Stadium last summer, and he quickly established himself as a member of Arsene Wenger’s starting XI.
But the youngster, who turns 22 in June, has recently been asked to play in a more central and defensive position, with Cesc Fabregas moving to a more attacking role behind the striker.
Nasri has reacted positively to these new instructions, but at the same time confessed that he must improve.
“I am more comfortable in the centre,” Nasri told L’Equipe. “I am more involved in the action. Even if it is not up to me to do the dirty work, I feel capable of it.
“I just need a few more adjustments in terms of place because it is different from when you are playing on a wing.”
