Clubs hoping Vidic's wife's dislike of the weather could see him ask to leave United
Nemanja Vidic's agent has reiterated his statement that the Manchester United defender will not be leaving the club this summer despite reports linking him with a transfer.
Silvano Martina is adamant that no move is set to take place because the 27-year-old Serbian international wants to see out the remaining three years of his contract with the Red Devils.
Reports in recent days had suggested that Vidic's wife, Ana had become disillusioned with life in England and was keen to move to a Mediterranean country. Barcelona were linked with a move for him as a result and were said to be ready to offer whatever Manchester United wanted for the player.
But that has now been rubbished by Martina, who insisted that his client is going nowhere. "I read unworthy things in the English and Spanish newspapers. The only thing I can say is that Vidic has three years on his contract with Manchester United," he told Tuttomercatoweb.
"They're a club that are preparing to contest the final of the Champions League, not a Lega Pro team, and that I am the only agent at this moment and I have nothing new to say." -
