Juninho, Roberto Carlos, Beckham and Pirlo?
Batistuta ![]()
Every era will have their own notable free-kick takers... Right now this moment its Ronaldo's time...
In the past, their are many who could take great free kicks too... One thing I don't understand is why some seem to think Roberto Carlos was that good? Cos the truth is he wasn't... Its overplayed I think...
If ever there was a great free kick taker that come closest to Ronaldo, Then it has to be Ronald Koeman. Cos unlike Carlos, most of his goals were from free-kicks or long range while Carlos had many from open play while at Real Madrid...
If we are to look at their games played and goals scored, we could see how far they are apart... The only difference people seem to remember Carlos is cos he appears on Tv much more than Koeman's playing for Real Madrid and Brazil...
Roberto Carlos played 551 scored 67 goals.
Ronald Koeman played 533 games, scored 193.
Juninho played 377 games, scored 99.
Mihajlovic played 425 scored 69 goals.
Ronaldo is the most dangerous free-kick taker this moment... Whenever he lines up, the defends are scared... The 41 yards he put pass Arsenal last week, not many would even try... And last night, despite City coming out to say before the match they have worked on plans to stop him from his free-kicks, they still couldn't stop it going in...
Anyway, this news is more like Hughes trying to play some mind games with him just before his team plays United... Trying to discourage him from making such shots... Cos he knew it could be a dangerous moment to his team... Which I guess turns out to be true.
But then i like Mihajlvoic (Last seen playing for Inter Milan)
