Manchester City dazzler Robinho insists he can match the heights of Manchester United rival Cristiano Ronaldo.
Robinho told the Mail on Sunday: "I know all about Ronaldo, of course. I think he deserved to be chosen as the best player in the world last season, although I am not sure if he will get the title this year because [Lionel] Messi is playing very well.
"It's true I didn't have the opportunity to watch Ronaldo's goals against Arsenal on television. I was playing football with Robson Junior. Robson likes to play football and I love to see my family happy. So I played with him. My son is only 18 months but already he likes to try and kick the football. We will have to wait and see if the ball likes him as well, but we had fun while the United game was on!
"One day I would like to be the No1 as well, the best player in the world. That is my aim while I am at Manchester City. I would love to do it. Before then, I have a chance to win the Golden Boot. Unfortunately, the team has not managed to win trophies this season, but I am looking for this award as the top scorer. Ronaldo has 17 goals at the moment, I have 14 goals, so I will fight until the end.
"Individually, I think things have been very, very good for me in my first season in England. I have been scoring goals, which I love doing. As a team, I'd have loved to have won the title. Unfortunately that was not possible this season, but hopefully we can do it next year. Our aim is to be champions over the next couple of years, to give our supporters the happiness they deserve."
