Didier Drogba accepts his future at Chelsea is over, it has been revealed.
The Daily Express says Drogba’s astonishing antics at the end of the Champions League semi-final defeat by Barcelona, when he ranted at Norwegian referee Ovrebo on the pitch and then punched the wall alongside him in the tunnel, have infuriated the Chelsea hierarchy.
Drogba accepts that he will be leaving Chelsea after five superb years at the club. A friend said: “Didier now wants to leave Chelsea this summer. He has set his heart on a move to Italy.”
Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho, the man who brought Drogba, 31, to Chelsea and turned him into a world-class striker, is still keen on taking his former charge back, but rivals AC Milan are also interested – especially if they can get the striker at a knockdown price of about £12million.
