Arsenal manager Arsene says his side have a point to prove when they travel to Old Trafford to face Premier League champions-elect Manchester United at the weekend.
The Gunners are still smarting from their comprehensive Champions League semi-final defeat to Sir Alex Ferguson's side, with Chelsea rubbing salt into the wound last Sunday with a humiliating 4-1 drubbing at the Emirates Stadium.
United's win at Wigan on Wednesday night leaves the Red Devils needing just a single point from their final two league games to secure a third consecutive title and 18th overall, equalling arch-rivals Liverpool's feat.
But of Ferguson's 10 Premier League titles to date, only one - in 1999 against Tottenham Hotspur - has actually been secured at the Theatre of Dreams.
And Wenger is determined to see his demoralised side spoil the Scot's party yet again and take all three points back to North London.
“We have a point to prove, definitely," he said.
“It looks like it will be Man United who win the league but we can still delay it. We want to play for our pride and be respected for who we are, that is people who love the game they play.
“We promised ourselves on the first of January we would give everything in every game until the end of the season.
“This is where we can show we are capable to do that.”
they starting to lose their determination to win...

either i'm reading something wrongly...or uh..because the match is at OT? ![]()
no no, lol
wenger is saying that he wont allow utd to win the title at Emirates Stadium
Any player in their right mind would of course want to win it at their own home infront of their huge supporters mah if given a choice... Who wants to go to someone else place if have a choice...
Like going to your neighbour house where got as comfortable as at your own home... And not just on the field... From the field right up to the dressing room the people all your own men... Coming out of the stadium all your own city supporters... How much better... Just hope they can do it this Sat and not away at Hull...
nope, i believe the most ideal location for utd fans to see their team carry the cup, is at ANFIELD.

Whats the point... Do you thing the Pool fans will bother to stay back and watch or celebrate? Of the 40,000 fans, maybe only 5,000 will be theirs... The rest would probably gone off. The whole feeling is so anti-climax...
Unlike winning at Wigan or at some smaller clubs... The fans would stay back and watch cos they don't mind... But if its your direct competitor, the sigh of it will disgust them so they leave earlier before the final whistle to avoid it...
Look at the Arsenal celebration in 2002... More than 3/4 of the fans are gone before the match even ended... Only less than 1/4 squeezed into one small corner... The feeling won't be the same as with the whole stadium singing and celebrating...
So the best place is still at OT... As they only manage 1 in their last 10 winning seasons... Not many of their fans have been able to catch it cos 9 has been away... Hope this one is like 1999...

the point is being shiok ~ ![]()
if im a utd fan, i will want it to be at anfield, so, i can scream in the face of any liverpool fans =)
& since ronaldo like to yaya so much, that will be the best timing for him to act on it =)
to me lar, afterall, nothing beat the feeling of winning in the face of your arch rivals.
