The Gunners currently sit 18 points behind table-toppers Manchester United and face the galling prospect of seeing them seal the title in their clash this weekend.
While Wenger’s policy of giving youth a chance has continued to deliver attractive football, points have been dropped at key times in the season with critics blaming a lack of experience.
And having seen Andrey Arshavin, a ready-made player at 27, arrive in January and make an immediate impact, the Frenchman admits his next signings will be similar.
He said: “We don’t need more players without experience.
“If we bring in players it will be ones with experience.
“If you do a comparison between Manchester United and us, we have scored a similar number of goals — but we have conceded more.
“In the passing and in the final third of the pitch we are as good as Manchester United.
“But we’ve conceded 36, they’ve conceded 24. They scored 67, we’ve scored 64.
“Offensively there is no difference — defensively there is.”
imagine with few players at arshavin's age, experience and real skills instead of players like eboue, adebayor , silvestre
