Former Manchester United forward Eric Cantona has revealed he is keen on returning to football as a coach, either of the Red Devils or the English national team.
The 42-year-old made more than 140 league appearances for Sir Alex Fergusons's side from 1992-97, winning four league titles and two FA Cups.
However, the Frenchman then shocked the football world by announcing his retirement to concentrate on an acting career, with the former Marseille man currently starring in two films at the Cannes film festival.
"If I am to return [to football] one day it will be as a coach and because I could bring something new," he told La Provence.
"But it will be in England, with the national team or at Manchester."
Cantona's only coaching experience to date has come with the French national beach soccer team, with whom he won the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2005.
But his chances of succeeding Ferguson in the Old Trafford hot-seat any time soon diminished over the weekend.
After lifting a record-equalling 18th English league title following Saturday's 0-0 draw with Arsenal, the 67-year-old Scot revealed he was willing to delay his retirement in order to see his side overtake Liverpool by winning a 19th league crown.
maybe he means manchester city and not united?
