Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma says he will not be returning to Portugal at the end of the season.

The former Barcelona and Porto forward joined the San Siro outfit last summer to link up with fellow countryman Jose Mourinho.

However, he struggled to establish himself with the Nerazzuri, making just 13 Serie A appearances.

And with Tottenham believed to be on the brink of signing him on the final day of the winter transfer window, he opted for a last-gasp switch to Stamford Bridge, teaming up with former Portugal national team boss Luiz Felipe Scolari in West London.

But, again, Quaresma has laboured, starting just one game for the Blues - his debut against Hull, which proved to be Scolari's last as Chelsea chief.

And despite reports that Benfica are keen on bringing the 25-year-old home to resurrect his career, Quaresma has revealed a return to Portugal is not on his agenda.

"Right now I do not plan on returning because I did everything I had to do in Portugal," he told O Jogo.

"My goal is to continue here, abroad.

"Of course I am not happy, because I have always been used to playing but since the season is almost over I have to endure this situation.

"I want to plan my future as quickly as possible and go to a club where I can play and be happy.

"I have spoken with my agent and he knows what I want. He also knows what is best for me. So I am not worried because I still have a contract with Inter.

"I cannot say I am going here or there because there are things to address."

Quaresma to return to Inter with something to prove

On-loan Chelsea midfielder Ricardo Quaresma will return to Inter Milan and not move to Genoa despite conflicting reports.

The 25-year old spent the second half of the season on loan at Stamford Bridge but is now intent on proving some people at Inter wrong.

"I will return to Inter," he told A Bola.

"I am in debt to president (Massimo) Moratti, because he made a huge financial effort to sign me, and also to (Jose) Mourinho, because he wanted me and I know he fought hard for my move to Inter to be possible.

"I also want to show everyone at Inter that it was not a mistake to sign me.

"It is true I did not do the pre-season with Inter a year ago, it is true things did not go well for me in Milan and I assume my responsibility for that failure.

"But I am confident of my value and I know I am capable of turning this round and showing what I can do, what I am worth."
