Xavi: We deserve to win Champion League ahead of Man Utd!

  Xavi insists Barcelona deserve to win the Champions League this week.

  Discussing their final clash with Manchester United, Xavi declared: "I think it would be a reward for the football we have played this year. The team deserves it, we play the best football in Europe and I think we deserve it, but it is a final and in football anything can happen."

  Xavi is also backing Lionel Messi to silence doubters questioning his ability to handle Premiership opposition: "This is the best footballer in the world and I am sure he will show this because he has grown and he knows he is the best.

  "We are very confident and for us it is a privilege to play this type of game because it will prove who is number one."

  hmm, I frown whenever people say "deserve".. if they so good, just prove it on the pitch/field... on paper and on field, totally different..

  in a football finals, which scenario would you preferred? play sexy football and lose? or play badly or so-soand win in the end, including pk. it will be a final of attrition. barcelona wont come out attacking like crazy, as it has to protect its back 4. they know what rooney, berbatov and ronaldo can do in counter attack, as man utd strengths is its fast counter attack. with 3 of their defenders are out, I fancy Man Utd as slight favourites. Man Utd no fletcher, but that is no disadvantage, as still got anderson, carrick and giggs and scholes in midfield.
