LEAVING FOR FREE ... Michael Owen
The striker will spark a transfer war this summer when he leaves relegated Newcastle on a free.
Villa are one of a posse of clubs who have made informal enquiries about the ex-England ace.
And defender Curtis Davies admitted: "I'd love to see him here. "People will talk about his wages. But if you are getting him on a free transfer, it offsets that.
"If we are ever in the running for a player like that, it will show the progression of this club. "If he goes somewhere, keeps fit and plays games, he will score goals."
Villa will regret it ... his injuries cannot play 38 over games a season .
He started too young ... After a few games , he'll be sidelines with more severe injuries .
But ok la , to pay Owen $30,000 pounds per week , free . Ok la
if Owen demand between 60,000 to 100,000 per week , then it's not a good deal .
he's gonna meet up with heskey!

PLS, i wont want him back.
i desperately want david sliva and tevez instead!!
I think Owen still have a future in the game... Cos he is only 29 yrs old... I believe if he plays for a bigger club with better team mates, he can still show his past form...
Owen was a top class player when he left Pool and his time at Real Madrid wasn't really that bad as some made it out to be... I recalled they once had a statistic that showed goals scored to match played, he has one of the highest or the highest average over there...
Part of his Newcastle problem I feel right now is, he isn't motivated enough... He is used to challenging for the titles then now find himself at mid-table then bottom of the table... Another thing could also be he has been playing under a string of average or lousy managers at Newcastle...
My opinion he is still worth taking a risk with... A player of his caliber and age could be worth anything between $8m to $12m... Now he will comes free... So even if a top club pays him $80k per week, it will still only come to $4m a year... Still worth it when we think there is no transfer fee require to buy him in the first place...
He is also a very experienced player... And could be that fox in the box all over again... or a useful sub...
but serioulsy why did villa buy heskey. heskey is so crap.....
u should say y fabio wan to let him play for the england team ![]()
seriously liverpool should buy someone that has the same ability as steven gerrard or a creative playmaker midfielder rather than strikers again -.-"
