Ref Steve Tanner axed by Premier League

  High ranking referee Steve Tanner has been axed by the Premier League next season.

  

  Tanner has been demoted because of sub-standard marks and as he was also a FIFA referee he must come off that list as well.

  Others who will no longer take charge of Premier League matches are Keith Stroud and Uriah Rennie - who missed the whole of last season anyway through fitness problems.

  Favourite to gain promotion from the Football League to the Premier is Kevin Friend.

  According to wiki he refereed one match between Spurs and WBA poorly.
