  Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has held talks with Valencia winger David Silva, it has been revealed.

  The Mirror says it emerged last night that Benitez is pursuing Spain international winger David Silva with some vigour, and met with him in their native country earlier this week.

  Silva told his fellow Spaniard that he would love to play in the Premier League, but there is still the stumbling block of the fee his club Valencia are demanding.

  Benitez would pay around £17million for the 23 year old, but if his heavily indebted Spanish side try to spark an auction with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, then he will pull out of the bidding.

  *David Silva's Agent Holds Meeting With Real Madrid At The Bernabeu - Reports* David Silva's agent, Julio Llorente, has reportedly been at the Bernabeu this morning to discuss a contract with Real Madrid for the Valencia winger. The Spanish international is widely expected to leave the Mestalla this year with Madrid or Liverpool thought to be his likely destination. AS reports that Llorente was in Spain and not England today though as he met with Madrid sports director to discuss a salary for Silva. It is claimed that the meeting went on for around an hour and a half, and they also spoke about the sporting expectations of the winger. With regards to the price of the deal, Madrid are expecting to pay around €20 million to secure the signature of the Spanish international. As well as Silva, the capital club appear to be on the verge of signing Kaka, and are reportedly in the market for Franck Ribery and Cristiano Ronaldo too. Nevertheless, Madrid know that Valencia will not make a decision about Silva for at least another three days, when they are holding a shareholders meeting. After that, the situation of both Silva and David Villa could become clearer, and one of them could well be off to the capital.
