New Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti wants the England ace, 28, to become the world’s highest-paid left-back at £130,000 a week — bringing him into line with the club’s top earners.* Barca coach Pep Guardiola is prepared to offer £20m for Cole but Chelsea are confident he will stay at the club. Cole has two years left on his £80,000-a-week contract. But a Chelsea club source said: “One of the first things Mr Ancelotti said when arriving at the club was not to allow Ashley to leave. “He is aware that Barcelona rate him extremely highly and Guardiola sees the left-back position as the team’s only weak link. “We’re extremely hopeful that Ashley will stay at Chelsea.� Frank Lampard, John Terry and Michael Ballack all earn £130,000 a week for Chelsea.
