*£60million for Rib stak REAL MADRID aim to hand Chelsea another hammer blow by winning the chase to sign Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich.* The Spanish giants are already close to sealing a £62million deal for another Blues target, AC Milan's Brazilian superstar Kaka. Real president Florentino Perez says he would spend a similar sum to land French midfielder Ribery. Perez claims he is pals with Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and coach Uli Hoeness and said: "It would be a huge satisfaction to have Ribery. "So I will get in touch with my friends Karl-Heinz and Uli to ask them what they want to do."

In the run for a treble,then lost a "sure win" game to Zaragoza in Spanish Cup. After that,knocked out by Morientes's goals in Euro. Totally leapfrogged by Valencia in the league. Ended up with nothing. Lost 5 straight league games towards the end just like this season.
