Sebastien Bassong has affirmed that he is desperate to move on from Newcastle United.
The Frenchman joined The Magpies from Metz following an impressive trial last summer and quickly established himself as a key player for the St James' Park side.
The centre back could not prevent Newcastle from tumbling out of the top flight and he is determined to capitalise on his promising debut season in The Premier League, with Tottenham and Arsenal believed to be on his tail.
As a consequence, Bassong has revealed that he plans to move on from Championship club Newcastle with immediate effect.
“I want to play Premier League football,” Bassong told L'Equipe.
“I want to leave Newcastle.
“I am going to have to assess the offers, study the sporting project as well as the time of play that they want to offer me.”
