Brazil reached the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over an unambitious United States side in Pretoria.
After a controversial 4-3 victory over Egypt in their opening game Dunga's men were under pressure to impress.
And the Copa America champions did more than enough to earn victory over their Gold Cup counterparts as goals by Felipe Melo (7), Robinho (20) and Maicon (62) produced a scoreline that still flattered the Americans, who had Sacha Kljestan sent off in the second half.

Tomorrow night Brazil face Italy in their last group game of this Confederations Cup, needing only a draw to secure first place and avoid Spain in the semifinals.
One of the Selecao's stars, Robinho,
who has already opened his account at this tournament with a goal
against the USA in Brazil's second group game, has a special reason to
leave his mark in the match against the Azzurri as well.
The
Manchester City man can't wait come across his former Real Madrid team
mate Fabio Cannavaro, with whom he played between 2006 and 2008, before
making the move to Manchester.
"Tomorrow I hope to score and make fun of Cannavaro," Robinho said to Ansa.it.
"The principal objective of the Selecao is to win," he continued, on a more serious note.
"Playing
well is not the priority: we can combine the two things, play with
quality and give a sense of spectacle, outclassing our opponents. But
if we aren't able to play well, it would still be important to win."

Spain dazzles to equal Brazil's unbeaten run
On the verge of setting more football history, Spain's dazzling attack appears to be the defining trait that sets it apart from a Brazil team whose undefeated record it is on the cusp of breaking.
Spain's 2-0 win over South Africa on Saturday was a record setting 15th straight victory that also represented a 35th straight game without a loss, a feat that only Brazil's 1994 World Cup winning team managed.
Hungary (1950-54) and Argentina (1991-93) both went unbeaten for 31 games but only Spain and Brazil have managed to surpass that mark.
New Zealand secured a first ever point in the Confederations Cup after holding Iraq to a 0-0 draw in Group A.

And Liverpool's third choice left back? Whatever happened to Grosso?
hahaha lmao

Two goals from Daniel Guiza and a Xabi Alonso free-kick saw Spain defeat South Africa 3-2 to clinch third place in the Confederations Cup.
European champions Spain, whose 35-match unbeaten run came to a shock end against the United States in the semi-finals, were lethargic for much of the encounter and appeared to be heading for another defeat when Katlego Mphela put Bafana Bafana ahead after 73 minutes.
But two goals in the final three minutes from substitute Daniel Guiza turned the match around only for Mphela to send the game into extra-time with a blistering free-kick.
Spain sealed it when Liverpool midfielder Alonso curled a 107th-minute free-kick from the left into the area which eluded everyone and ended up in the bottom right-hand corner.

wassup with USA being so strong against stronger teams? o.o

Brazil have won the Confederations Cup after recovering from a two-goal half-time deficit to defeat USA 3-2 in the final in Johannesburg.
After falling behind to efforts from Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan, the South Americans looked out of ideas when they left the field at half-time.
But Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano pulled one back immediately after the restart, before drawing his side level with 16 minutes still to play.
Captain Lucio then had the final say when he powered home from an Elano corner to break American hearts and claim Brazil's third title.
Before kick-off FIFA honoured Marc-Vivien Foe, the Cameroon midfielder, who collapsed with a heart problem during the 2003 finals in France, with his son Marc Scott delivering a message in memory of his late father.

Those are signs of a young talented team that is going to make an impact in the coming World Cup.
