High price tag slapped on Ibra

Zlatan Ibrahimovic would not be allowed to leave Inter Milan for less than £76.6million and could be replaced by Karim Benzema, according to president Massimo Moratti.

Ibrahimovic's future is the subject of conjecture and a summer move to Barcelona has been mooted, although Inter have stressed they would prefer to keep the Swedish striker.

Moratti remains keen on retaining the attacker's services, and stated that he rates Ibrahimovic as a better player than reported Real Madrid target Franck Ribery, who currently plies his trade for Bayern Munich.

"If it is true that Bayern Munich have placed a €70million (£59.5m) tag on Ribery, then I will need to ask a minimum of €90million (for Ibrahimovic)," Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport.

    Successor

"If we are talking about Barcelona I think (Barcelona president) Laporta is far away from the mega-investment policy that Real Madrid have made so far.

"No offer has been made for Ibrahimovic. Perhaps it will arrive tomorrow or it will come from another place (not Barcelona), but as of today, there isn't one.

"I reiterate that I would gladly keep Ibrahimovic," said Moratti. "Ibrahimovic is at Inter and Ibrahimovic is the best, in my opinion."

It has been suggested Lyon striker Benzema could replace Ibrahimovic at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza should he be sold during the transfer window.

"There is a bit of truth in this option," Moratti told L'Equipe.

    Maicon

"We don't want to be taken by surprise in the case Ibra was to move on. Benzema is a strong player, he is talented. But to me, Ibra is a better player than him."

Meanwhile, right-back Maicon appears set to stay at Inter, despite recent speculation linking the Brazilian with a switch to Real.

Moratti added: "As for Maicon, he will stay. Sometimes declarations are suggested or directly made by agents. The player has not told us anything."

Of cos they don want to sell Maicon la... They don't want to make another Roberto Carlos mistake.  Maicon can be regard as one of the world best right/left -back.
