After months of negotiations, Victor Valdes has signed a new long-term contract at Barcelona.

The Catalan goalkeeper will now remain with the Primera Liga giants until at least 2014.

Speculation had circulated that the 27-year-old could be on the move during the summer transfer window as Barca refused to meet his demands.

However, a compromise has now been reached, with reports suggesting Valdes has seen his salary doubled.

Valdes played an integral role for Pep Guardiola's side last season as they claimed league, UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey crowns.

He has made over 200 appearances for the club since making his first-team debut in 2002 and was awarded the Zamora (top goalkeeper) award for his performances during the 2008/09 campaign.
